As aspiring doctors were waiting for MDCAT 2024 results, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) officially announced the results for the MDCAT 2024.

The results were announced after Islamabad High Court (IHC) allowed varsity to publish MDCAT question papers on its website, a request that was fulfilled shortly after the results were released.

Candidates can access their results by visiting SZABMU’s official site here by entering their roll numbers.

The court’s involvement stemmed from petitions alleging that a number of exam questions were outside the prescribed syllabus. Over 20,000 candidates took the MDCAT on September 22, and concerns were raised that 27 out of the 200 questions were not covered in the curriculum.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) earlier stopped results on petition from six students who started legal course for retake the MDCAT due to 26-27 out-of-syllabus questions on the September 22 exam.

MDCAT candidates said examiner confiscated the question paper, which should have been returned to them, prompting a peaceful protest against the irregularities. The court issued a stay order, preventing Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABIST) from releasing the MDCAT results and scheduled a hearing for September 26, directing notices to all involved parties.

MDCAT 2024 Leak

Besides out of sylalbaus questions, another controversy started over alleged paper leak of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in Sindh. A joint action committee (JAC) claims to have evidence that the exam paper was leaked on social media before the test, with 184 out of 200 questions matching those on the official exam held on September 22 for over 38,000 candidates.

Young Doctors Association also demanding an investigation while Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) dismissed the paper leak allegations as unfounded and stated that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council was satisfied with the exam process.
