A swindler has not even spared a blind Moazan (Azan reciter) in Karachi and took away his mobile phone and money on Wednesday.

Reportedly, a trickster approached a blind Moazan, Hafiz Amjad, in a mosque in Gulistan Johar. He asked him to recite a Naat for him so that he could record and upload it on social media and made it viral. The swindler asked the Moazan to give him his smart phone so that he could record his voice. The Moazan agreed and handed him his mobile phone.

The poor, gullible Moazan kept reciting Naat while the trickster opened his Easy Cash account and transferred Rs35,000 to his own account. Then he stealthily made his way out holding Hafiz’s phone in his hand. The Moazan was still reciting Naat while the accused sped away on his motorcycle parked outside the mosque. The whole episode was recorded on the CCTV camera of the mosque.

The Moazan appealed to the higher authorities to take notice of the incident and demanded justice. Hafiz said that the swindler told him that his name was Hassan.
