Punjab Police have claimed to arrest two suspects who committed fraud in the name of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
According to a police spokesperson on Thursday, a team from the Rajanpur Police Station and BISP staff carried out a joint operation that exposed a group that was siphoning off BISP funds through forgery and fraud.
DPO Rajanpur Dost Muhammad said that two leading members of the gang were arrested thanks to the successful strategy and raid of the team.
Fake fingerprints and other devices were recovered from the possession of the accused, who have been arrested so far. Transactions worth lakhs of rupees have been made through fraud and the accused were caught red-handed by the police while withdrawing money fraudulently.
A case has been registered against the arrested accused, NazimHussain and Shahbar, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
