Students, teachers and staff members of Islamabad’s various schools and colleges expressing solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan on the first anniversary of May 9, 2023 resolved that they would never let May 9 happen again and will stand by their forces in testing times.
Various ceremonies were held in this regard at the federal schools and colleges in which patriotic songs were sung, speeches were made and exhibitions were held showing great achievements of the Heroes of Pakistan. The young ones in military uniforms marched the corridors and in the playgrounds to express solidarity with the Pakistani forces.
One such ceremony took place at Islamabad College for Girls (IMCG) F-10/2 in which students put on Military, Air Force and Navy uniforms and sang patriotic anthems showing their deep love and affection for Pakistan.
Principal of the college Prof Shazia Rizvi drew the attention of the students towards the great sacrifices made by the forces for the defence of Pakistan and called upon the students to uphold the standard of Unity, Faith and Discipline with deep passion and courage.
Our forces are our pride and we can’t let anyone weaken the bond of love that exists between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan, she said.
Boys and girls of the Junior Section presented different tableaus and lit the flame of patriotism in every heart present in the ceremony.
A student of grade-4, Ayesha said, “It is time to stand united and give a loud and clear message to the anti-Pakistan forces that we would never let their evil designs prevail in the country and fight with them till our last blood.”
It may be mentioned here that in 2023 on the same date, May 9, a handful of saboteurs took to roads and disrupted the normal course of life. They were protesting the arrest of their leader Imran Khan.
