LAHORE – A good news for the students of colleges and universities as a decision has been made to issue driving licenses to them in Punjab.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Traffic Headquarters said that the additional IG traffic decided to provide licenses to students, and a notification was issued to all Chief Traffic Officers (CTOs) and District Traffic Officers (DTOs) stating that licenses would be issued to both students and administration from universities and colleges.
The spokesperson said that a large number of students are driving motorcycles and vehicles without licenses, which contributes to accidents. A special campaign was launched across Punjab for the issuance of driving licenses to students and faculty.
Under the plan, CTOs and District Traffic Officers would immediately meet with the heads of educational institutions.
Additionally, focal persons would be appointed from universities across the province.
University and college administrations would facilitate students in reaching testing centers, where all necessary facilities for obtaining driving licenses would be provided.
The Higher Education Commission of Punjab also issued guidelines to educational institutions regarding the campaign.
