‘Spiritual Democracy’ – Salman Ahmed to release documentary on PM Imran Khan’s life

LAHORE – Singer Salman Ahmad is working on a documentary that is based on the life of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The project titled “Spiritual Democracy” will cover around 50 years of the PTI founder’s life.

Talking to a private news channel, the musician said: “I personally know him [Imran Khan] for 35 years,” adding that he is collecting old photos, videos for the documentary.

Ahmad said that he also had the footage of Imran Khan’s very first Test match in which he could not perform.

The documentary, he said, comprises four thematic parts that explore the life the cricketer-turned-politician.

The first part named ‘Journey of Self Discovery’ tells about Khan’s life before becoming the prime minister, he said, adding that the second part, ‘Nuclear Neighbours’, sheds light relations between Pakistan and India.

The third part, ‘Age of Crisis and Calamities’, focuses on the issues faced by the prime minister due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The last portion is named ‘Pakistan: The Search for Identity’, which talks about premier’s vision for Pakistan.

The singer said that he had conducted interviews of several influential figures including former Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad.

Salman Ahmed has also planned to release the documentary in around 10 languages for the international community.
