LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather for Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the next couple of days.
According to the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.
A shallow trough is present over northern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the province and cold/partly cloudy in Murree, Galliyat and surroundings on Sunday evening/night and the next two days.
Smog/fog is likely to persist in Narowal, Sialkot, Okara, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas during morning and night hours.
In Lahore, minimum temperature is likely to remain between 10-12 degrees Celsius on Monday and 09-11 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, smog prevailed over Lahore and major cities in the province.
Lahore AQI
In Lahore, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 196 at Punjab University’s fixed monitoring station at 9:00 am.
At noon, AQI at Kot Lakhpat, Lahore was recorded at 180.
Cold and dry weather prevailed over most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Murree remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped to 04 C.
Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 46 per cent.
In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 11 C.
