The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has decided to launch an international flight operation from Skardu Airport with an aim at promoting tourism sector, it has been learnt on Friday.
The Authority has directed for taking steps to make the airport active for the international flights by June-July this year.
Recently, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had decided to operate weekly flights from Lahore to Skardu and Gilgit from next month.
PIA spokesman Abdullah Hafeez said that Lahore would be added to the existing route between Islamabad to Skardu and Gilgit.
