A complaint was filed against the Islamabad High Court judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani in the Supreme Judicial Council on Monday.
In his complaint, Advocate Raja Maqsood Hussain requested the SJC to dismiss Kiani from service on account of what he alleged his ‘misconduct’.
The advocate also requested the council to strip the judge off his powers until and unless it gave its verdict on his complaint. The complainant was of the view that Kiani had been misusing his powers since he fixed for hearing the cases of his favourites so that they could get the decisions of their liking.
He alleged that one of the judge’s relatives was busy doing rowing in the Rawal Dam against the rules. “Truth of the matter is that all departments feel reluctant to take action against Kiani’s relatives,” read the complaint.
The advocate went on to say that the judge also did favours to members of the AQ Associates of which he himself had remained a member.
The complainant also demanded action against the lawyers who were the recipients of his favours.
Furthermore, he alleged, Kiani had several undeclared properties within the country as well as abroad. “There are 15 non-moveable properties registered in his name in Pakistan,” read the complaint.
