At least six people were injured as a result of an apparent gas leakage blast on Saturday evening in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi.
Six casualties include two women, the police said; adding that the casualties may rise. Two of them have been taken to a nearby private hospital, they added.
East SSP Abdur Raheem Shirazi said that the explosion apparently occurred due to a gas leakage in an apartment near Rado Bakery. However, he did not rule out the possibility of the use of explosives until the investigation establishes so.
A team from Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has also reached the site to collect the evidence and the police will issue a formal statement based on the BDS report.
