Sindh sets matric, inter exams in May, bans phones at centers

In a meeting chaired by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ali Malkani, preparations for the upcoming Matric and Intermediate board exams in May were reviewed. With detailed briefings provided by board officials, it was confirmed that Matric exams will commence in the first week of May, followed by Intermediate exams towards the end of the month. Karachi alone will host 250 exam centers, accommodating over 350,000 candidates, with stringent security measures in place. During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to strictly prohibit the use of mobile phones at exam centers, with violators facing confiscation of their devices.

Furthermore, arrangements were discussed for vigilant monitoring during exams, with a focus on curbing malpractice. The meeting also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts among parents, teachers, and authorities to maintain exam integrity.

The Education Department affirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth examination process and announced plans for third-party assessments to address any discrepancies in result marking. Additionally, measures for digitizing records, enhancing assessment procedures, and overall exam management were deliberated upon for effective implementation.
