Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui referred to Sunday as the “dark day” when Supreme Court disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif saying “the country was pushed into the abyss of darkness.”
“Seven years ago, on this very day, July 28, 2017, the elected Prime Minister with a two-thirds majority was removed from office and jailed for not taking a salary from his son,” Senator Siddiqui said.
He said that the country was thriving and growth rate was 6.3%, inflation was 3%, load shedding had ended, terrorism had been crushed, the IMF had been bid farewell, there was an investment of 60 billion dollars coming in the form of CPEC, all international institutions were predicting a bright economic future for Pakistan.
“Pakistan was standing tall in the global community but it was pushed into the abyss of decline in accordance with a well-thought-out plan,” he added.
Mr. Siddiqui said that around 250 million people are suffering the consequences of those decisions while the planners who were free from the fear of accountability, were having luxurious lives.
