Senior Minister SharjeelInamMemon paid homage to President Asif Ali Zardari on his 69th birthday, lauding his political legacy and contributions to Pakistan. Memon highlighted Zardari’s role as a mentor to both his supporters and political opponents. SharjeelInamMemon emphasized that Asif Ali Zardari’s name will always be prominent in Pakistan’s political history.
He praised Zardari’s high political acumen and his efforts for the nation and its people. Memon noted that Zardari never adopted a confrontational policy with state institutions and refrained from plunging the country into chaos. Memon credited Zardari with upholding the vision of Shaheed Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, solidifying the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as a symbol of national unity.
He acknowledged Zardari’s inherited political wisdom, which was further refined through his partnership with Benazir Bhutto. Memon praised Zardari for his resilience, mentioning his unjust 12-year imprisonment and his pivotal “Pakistan Khappe” slogan, which united the nation during a critical period.
He lauded Zardari’s respect for judiciary and state institutions, highlighting that Zardari never claimed immunity from Pakistan’s laws despite being a leader of a major political party. The minister also highlighted Zardari’s achievements, including the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which enhanced provincial autonomy, reduced the sense of deprivation among smaller federal units, and strengthened the federation. Zardari’s efforts in renaming the North-West Frontier Province to Khyber Pakhtunkhwaand initiating Gilgit-Baltistan reforms were also acknowledged. Memon commended Zardari’s launch of significant programs like Balochistan Package, CPEC, and BISP, and his efforts to empower the parliament by relinquishing presidential powers. Zardari’s promotion of reconciliation politics over conflict and his focus on democracy and public rights were also noted. SharjeelInamMemon concluded by praising Zardari’s unparalleled political wisdom, perseverance, and struggle, which earned him the honor of being elected president twice.
He highlighted that Zardari avoided confrontations with non-political forces and did not indulge in any adventurous policies. He also noted that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s stance against traditional confrontational politics continues Zardari’s legacy of reconciliation.
