Sanitary condition in the city has been further deteriorated following retrenchment of services of 120 daily-wage sanitary workers by the administrator Municipal Corporation Hafizabad. The citizens have expressed their grave concern over the decision of the MC.
Meanwhile, the CBA Union of MC headed by its Chairman Ishaq Khokhar said that sanitary staff is already inadequate but the administrator MC has removed 120 daily wagers, which is unjustified. The CBA Union and office–bearer of more than 12 local associations including Anjuman Tajran Ittihad and Anjuman Shehrian have expressed their resentment over this uncalled for decision of the MC and have called upon the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner Gujranwala division and Secretary Local Government Punjab to take prompt action for the reinstatement of 120 daily wagers for improving hygienic condition in the city.
Meanwhile the district police have arrested Muhammad Tanveer, Muhammad Sabir, Mansab Ali, Nabi Ahmad, Muhammad Arslan, Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Baqar and Muhammad Ishfaq on the charge of keeping illicit arms and ammunitions.
