ISLAMABAD – PML-N senior leader Siddique-ul-Farooq died on Sunday.
His funeral prayers will be held at the H-11 graveyard in the federal capital on December 16, Monday (tomorrow) at 11 am.
The former Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) and House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) chairman was suffering from a kidney ailment.
During his long political career, Siddique-ul-Farooq served as press secretary to the former prime minister and PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and the party’s information secretary.
PM Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders have expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Siddique-ul-Farooq.
Conveying condolences to the bereaved family, he said that the PML-N had lost a sincere politician whose services would always be remembered.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed condolences on the demise of Farooq, lauding his contributions to the PML-N.
She extended sympathies to the family and prayed for the departed soul’s eternal peace.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui also paid respect to the deceased party leader.
“He was a man of firm ideas and loyalty who showed great courage in difficult times. He refused to become a witness against Nawaz Sharif”, he said while paying homage to Siddique-ul-Farooq.
He said that the death of Farooq was a great loss to politics and journalism.
