Seminar on Climate Change and Role of Women was organized in Muzaffarabad under the auspices of National Commission on the Status of Women and UNDP.
The seminar was attended by Chairperson NCSW Ms. Neelofar Bakhtiar, Minister for Education Azad Kashmir Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai, Parliamentary Secretary for Elementary, Secondary and Higher Education Prof. Taqdis Gilani, Member Assembly Nisar Abbasi, Secretary Development for Women Azad Kashmir Sardar Javed Ayub, Chairperson and Women Commission Kashmiri Tehmina Sadiq Khan, Chief Economist Planning and Development Department Muhammad Shimon Hashmi, Additional Secretary Local Government Dr Qudsia Batool and senior officers of other departments and women from all walks of life participated.
Addressing the seminar, Chairperson NCSW and Member National Assembly Nelufar Bakhtiar said: “We are working to provide information on women and climate change in Azad Kashmir, we have held meetings in all provinces in this regard. And Azad Kashmir is very important in this regard. Weather here is extremely cold, earthquakes, hurricanes, landslides and other severe effects of weather are endless so, so we have to make policies in which women are represented.
