Pakistan’s military on Saturday claimed killing 10 terrorists in a volatile region bordering Afghanistan as forces thwart infiltration attempt at the Pak-Afghan Border.

In a statement, Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said ten terrorists were gunned down on 8-9 March 2024, while three were injured in two separate engagements by the security forces in North Waziristan District.

Four militants were neutralized during an intelligence operation March 8. Whereas, during the follow-up sanitization operation, more militants were successfully neutralized by armed forces.

Army’s media wing also shared details about a separate operation in North Waziristan District, where five terrorists, who were trying to infiltrate Pakistan-Afghanistan border, were engaged by security forces.

It started an intense fire exchange, and two militants, Terrorist Umer & Terrorist Rehman Niaz were killed while three other terrorists got injured.

Army said Islamad continues to ask the Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border.

Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan. Security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country, ISPR said.
