KARACHI – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday ordered to end encroachments from outside government and private buildings including Pakistan Rangers Headquarters.
A SC bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa passed the order while hearing tye cases at top court Karachi registry on Thursday.
The top court ordered the removal of encroachments from outside Governor House and CM House within three days and sought a report after eliminating all encroachments.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa observed that obstructing the free movement of the public is not permissible, closing roads and erecting barriers is illegal, and both the federal and provincial governments are themselves creating encroachments.
The court directed that the bill for the removal of encroachments be sent to senior officers, expenses be recovered from their pockets, ask pedestrians about their grievances, and people sit in the shade of trees from the British era while the British earn rewards.
The CJP ordered the MC’s roads to be cleared of encroachments and directed the Rangers in this regard.
Later, Chief Justice Justice Qazi Faez Isa directed the Additional Attorney General in his order to inform federal institutions, send copies of the court order to all relevant and security agencies.
