ISLAMABAD – Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Monday arrived in Pakistan on an official visit.
The high-powered delegation arrived at Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase and was received by Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar.
Prince Saud’s visit is expected to accelerate the progress of agreement between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
The two agreed to speed up the initial phase of a planned $5 billion Saudi investment package for Pakistan. Saudi delegation is set to meet with the president, prime minister, foreign minister, relevant ministers, army chief, and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The timing of the visit is crucial, highlighting the harmony, trust, and cooperation between the leadership of both countries. The delegation will discuss the next steps of investment and implementation issues, aiming to increase export capacity, launch joint ventures, create new opportunities, and advance the objectives of the SIFC, thereby boosting the economy’s speed and confidence.
The statement also noted the end of Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation in recent years, emphasizing a renewed closeness, innovation, and warmth in Pakistan’s relations with its longstanding allies, particularly Saudi Arabia.
