ISLAMABAD – Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk will arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday for a key visit as Islamabad and Moscow aimed to bolster longstanding and cordial relations.

During his visit, H.E Overchuk will call on top Pakistani leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

Deputy PM Overchuk will be accompanied by a delegation of Russian deputy ministers, underscoring the importance of the visit.

He is arriving in South Asian nation with focus on expanding bilateral ties across multiple sectors such as trade, energy, and connectivity. Details shared by Foreign Office said the upcoming meetings are expected to pave the way for the signing of several significant agreements between the two countries.

Both sides will sign pacts related to trade, energy, finance, and industry. Overchuk’s visit is highest-level official interaction between Pakistan and Russia. It also follows recent discussions between Prime Minister Shehbaz and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazakhstan during SCO moot.
