Rupee extends losses against dollar

The exchange rate of Pakistan rupee continued bear-ish trend as it declined by 22 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs 163.89 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs 163.67.

According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 163.7 and Rs 164.7 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro was appreciated by 15 paisas and closed at Rs 194.72 against the last day’s trading of Rs 194.57 the State Bank of Pakistan reported.

The Japanese Yen gained one paisa to close at Rs 1.50, whereas an increase of 09 paisas was wit-nessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 227.98 as compared to its last clos-ing of Rs 227.89. —APP
