Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, congratulated the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chair of the Islamic Summit, and his Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may Allah protect them, on the successful conclusion of this year’s exceptional Hajj season.
Al-Othaimeen stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given a lesson in crisis and big crowd management as it organized the Hajj ritual under the novel coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) without recording any COVID-19 infection among the pilgrims. He said that “the success realized was made possible with the guidance of Almighty Allah, thanks to a series of right actions and decisions taken by the Kingdom since the outbreak of the pandemic; first with the suspension of Umrah and visits to the Prophet’s Sacred Mosque and then with the decision to organize Hajj ritual in line with strict health precautions and to restrict this year’s Hajj to a limited number of pilgrims to enable holding this ritual in security and make sure that everyone is safe from any risks related to the Coronavirus pandemic”.
Al-Othaimeen affirmed that the Kingdom has affirmed in this year’s exceptional Hajj season the principle of preserving the human soul, which is one of the five necessities embodied in the purposes and intents of the Islamic Shariah.—PR
