Rawalpindi announces holiday for schools, colleges on August 26

RAWALPINDI – The Rawalpindi deputy commissioner has announced a public holiday for all public and private educational institutions on August 26, Monday, on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A).

The deputy commissioner has issued a notification stating that universities, colleges and schools located within Rawalpindi’s Tehsil area will remain closed on Monday, August 26, 2024, due to Chehlum procession.

It means students have gotten long weekend as all educational institutions will remain closed for three days on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. They will reopen on August 27.

In Lahore, the administration has announced a local holiday on August 26 on account of the annual Urs of Hazra Data Ganj Bakhsh.
