LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rains and isolated hailstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Friday night and Saturday.
As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over Pakistan’s central and upper parts. It will likely persist till August 31.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Dera. Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Sahiwal and Bahawalpur on Friday night and Saturday. Hailstorms are also expected at isolated places during the period.
Lahore’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 32-34 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, rainfall occurred in parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.
Bahawalpur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature reached 34 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 42 per cent.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 33 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 34 per cent.
