ISLAMABAD – Widespread rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall are likely in Murree, Nathia Gali and other tourist destinations in Pakistan from March 10 to March 14 (Sunday-Thursday).
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave will likely enter Balochistan on March 09 (Saturday). It will extend upper parts of Pakistan on March 11 (Monday). Another westerly wave will enter Pakistan on March 12 (Tuesday).
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra and Haripur from March 10 (Sunday evening/night) to March 14 (Thursday). Isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are also expected on March 13 (Wednesday) and March 14 (Thursday).
Rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan (Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit), Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) from March 11 (Monday) to March 15 (Friday).
Rain-wind/thunderstorms with a few heavy falls and snowfall are expected in Murree and Galyat from March 11 (Monday evening/night) to March 14 (Thursday).

Heavy rain with isolated heavy snowfall may cause the closure of roads in Murree, Galyat, Naran, Kaghan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli on March 13 (Wednesday) and March 14 (Thursday).
Landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan may affect the vulnerable points during the wet spell. Wind-thunderstorm/hailstorms may damage loose structures like electric poles and solar panels. Tourists are advised not to travel unnecessarily.
