Rain likely in Karachi

KARACHI – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain/drizzle for Karachi and surroundings on Monday evening/night.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting the western and upper parts of Pakistan.

It will likely persist in the upper parts of the country during the next few days.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Sindh while partly cloudy in upper districts on Monday evening/night, Tuesday and Wednesday.

However, light rain/drizzle is likely in Karachi and surrounding areas on Monday evening/night. Shallow fog/smog will likely persist in Jacobabad, Mohenjo-Daro, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu during morning and night hours.

Karachi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 12-14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 11-13 C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Mohenjo-Daro remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped to 06 C.

Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 47 per cent.

In Karachi, minimum temperature was recorded at 13 C.
