Pursuing modern research in agri sector need of hour: Imam

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research (NFS&R), Syed Fakhar Imam has stressed over the need of pursuing modern research and trends in the agriculture sector to tackle the future challenges.

He stated this on Wednesday while addressing the closing ceremony of “NutriBiz 2021” organized by the National Incubation Center in Islamabad.

Syed Fakhar Imam said the government is taking steps to establish agricultural universities across Pakistan to fill this gap.

Sharing data about Government’s efforts for Agri-culture sector, the minister said that 12 billion ru-pees have been allocated for the agriculture sector in the budget 2021-22 and efforts are afoot for more 25 billion rupees to uplift this very potential sector.

The Minister NFS&R assured of taking all possible measures to stabilize the agriculture sector which was necessary in the prevailing circumstances.
