LAHORE — Punjabi Parchar has announced that the Second International Punjabi Conference will take place from November 18 to 20, 2024, at the PPLAC, Qaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The announcement was made during a press conference held by the organization.
Ahmad Raza Punjabi, President of Punjabi Parchar, revealed that the conference will feature over 100 Punjabi personalities from various fields, including scholars, politicians, actors, poets, and social activists from Pakistan. International guests from countries such as the USA, Canada, India, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE will also attend. A significant 37-member delegation from India, consisting of Punjabi actors, singers, and journalists, will participate in the event.
The conference will include discussions on a range of global and local issues, alongside sessions dedicated to Punjabi literature and poetry. Nine research papers related to Punjab and Punjabi literature will be presented during the conference. Dr. Zaheer Watto, President of the Editorial Board, along with Dr. Shabnam Ishaq, Dr. Shumaila Hussain, Nasir Adeeb, Farhad Iqbal, and Dr. Aamir Raza, highlighted the importance of these papers in addressing both traditional and contemporary issues.
Rights activist Deep Sayeda praised the international Punjabi delegations and emphasized that the conference will focus on promoting peace in the region. Acclaimed writer Nasir Adeeb stressed the importance of discussing the global status of Punjabi journalism.
Nasir Dhillon, President of Punjabi Lehar and a well-known Punjabi vlogger, pointed out the strong interest from the international Sikh community in the conference. He noted that the event will not only celebrate Punjabi culture but also showcase Pakistan’s peaceful image to the world. Leading Punjabi vloggers and TikTokers will also be featured throughout the conference.
The Second International Punjabi Conference is set to be a major event, celebrating and discussing Punjabi culture, literature, and contemporary issues on a global stage.
