Punjab shares new update for Learner Driving License Fee

Over 1 million people in Punjab traffic police centres across Punjab to get learner driving licenses online as authorities set a January 1 deadline for the massive hike in fees.

As the government’s decision about the hike in fees triggered huge influx of applicants and major driving license were packed to their capacity, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi shared a new update and suspended the implementation of increased driving license fee.

With the new update, the government suspended the planned increase in fee hike, slated to be implemented today. People in Punjab will now be able an extension until January 9, 2024, allowing masses to get licenses at the current fee.

Last month, the government decided to raise driving license for cars and motorcycles. From Jan 10, 2024, the learner license fee will be increased by 1566 percent – from Rs60 to Rs1000.

Learner Driving License – Apply Online

To apply for learner driving license, applicants are required to visit the following official link to start the application for learner driving license.

  • Step 1: Create an account on the DLIMS licensing website (Sign Up)
  • Step 2: Fill out the application form
  • Step 3: Upload documents
  • Step 4: Generate PSID and pay through ATM, online banking or mobile banking channels.
