Punjab Ombudsperson’s Office buys Rs76lac worth of Apple, Samsung phones for Babus

LAHORE – Punjab government’s austerity claims are in a bad light as the office of the Ombudsperson shows high-end devices like the iPhone 15 Pro Max and five Samsung S24 Ultra for government officials.

As people in Punjab and parts of Pakistan are forced to pay record high bills amid back breaking inflation, the government claimed taking stern measures to cut expenditures on luxury items and now the receipt left people fuming.

Social media posts shared by discontented people shows a total bill of Rs7,687,350 from Lahore mobile store Rs to purchase iPhone 15 Pro Max and five Samsung S24 Ultra phones.

Amid these reports, Punjab government official confirmed to a TV channel about buying of these expensive devices.

The government officials however claimed that these phones were required for officers to handle some complicated information received through management information system from overseas.
