In line with the directives of Ombudsman Punjab Maj. (R) Azam Suleman Khan, the outstanding emoluments worth Rs.52,12,530 of a government employee Ramzan, who died during service, have been paid to the complainant Muhammad Aslam.

Similarly, the state land has been retrieved from illegal occupants by removing encroachments on the thoroughfare and illegal possession of rural land in Chak 374 GB Toba Tek Singh. This has removed hurdles in the public passage.

In another case, the widow of Muhammad Nazir from Mandi Bahauddin has succeeded in getting her insurance claim amounting to Rs.1,75000 due to the intervention of the Ombudsman Punjab.

Meantime, the Ombudsman Punjab Maj (R) Azam Suleman has given the decision in a case that the payment of a farewell grant to complainant Muhammad Arshad Abbas has been made under Rule 3 (E) of Punjab Government Servants Benevolent Fund Part-I Disbursement Rules, 1965 while merging of annual pay in basic pay is a policy matter in which intervention of the office of Ombudsman Punjab would not be justified. Similarly, any departmental mismanagement was not proved in this case, he further said.

In another case, the remaining dues of family pension worth Rs.2,54,802 have been paid to the widow of Ijaz Ahmed who retired as a forest guard in Attock.

As a result of the intervention of Ombudsman Punjab, one lakh, ten thousand and thirty-one rupees have also been paid to Shakeel Ahmed of Gujranwala. This amount was, inadvertently, deducted under the head of income tax by Xen Buildings Division 2 of Gujranwala.

The complainants have thanked Ombudsman Punjab Maj. (R) Azam Suleman for his keen interest and timely response to resolve their issues and added that this office is an effective platform for the common man.
