LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially launched new hybrid double-decker buses for the first time in Pakistan’s history.
The chief minister said five new hybrid double-decker buses will operate on new routes in Lahore to promote tourism, with one additional double-decker bus being added in Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi as well.
He also announced launching double-decker bus services in Multan and Faisalabad for promoting
During the ceremony, the chief minister also inspected the hybrid double-decker bus and also took a ride, while relevant officials provided her with a briefing.
The briefing noted that the double-decker bus service under the TDCP was initiated in November 2015 during the tenure of former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. These tourist buses allow academics, diplomats, state guests, the corporate sector, celebrities, and the public to explore tourist attractions.
In Lahore, three new tourist bus routes will connect Qaddafi Stadium to various sightseeing locations.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that modern and environmentally friendly buses will be provided for metropolitan tourism throughout Punjab.
