LAHORE – The Punjab Health Department has issued alert to cope with health emergency amid heavy rains in the province from April 18 to April 21 in the province.
The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has directed District Health Authorities, DHQ/THQ hospitals and Rural Health Centers to make necessary arrangements to cope with any emergency during the wet spell. Heads of medical institutions have been directed to make arrangements for treating electric shock, drowning, trauma and diarrhea case, prepare proper duty roster of emergency staff for 24/7 medical cover and ensure availability of consultant physically/on call on need basis and availability of sufficient quantities of ASV, ARV, IV fluids, surgical and disposal. They have also been directed to coordinate with district administration and Rescue 1122.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted significant rains and isolated hailstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab from April 18 to April 21.
Rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are expected in Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
