Punjab CS directs online approval of commercial building plans

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman has directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) officials to make arrangements for online approval of commercial building plans.

During visit to the LDA headquarters on Tuesday, he appreciated the initiative of online approval of maps, property status and sifting of records.

The CS directed the authorities to make the provision of services to the citizens easier through use of Information Technology. He also inspected the LDA Citizen Facilitation Center and Identification Cell.

Director General LDA Tahir Farooq briefed the CS about the reforms made in the facilitation center and the under-construction central monitoring system (control room). The control room comprising artificial intelligence and drone cameras would supervise the working of town planning, engineering, housing and metropolitan.

Later, the CS chaired a meeting related to LDA affairs in which DG LDA gave a briefing on revenue generation and ongoing and proposed projects. He appreciated recovery of 850 kanals of valuable land. He directed the LDA officials to ensure title ownership in its schemes and expedite development works in the LDA City Housing Scheme.
