LAHORE  –  Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the Elite Force was also established by Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.

The Punjab CM made these remarks while observing passing out parade at Baidian Training Centre in Lahore on Friday.

The members of the provincial cabinet and the IG Punjab also attended the ceremony and the Chief Minister inspected the parade.

Later, while addressing the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz said that she felt the same joy as the families of the participants by attending the passing out parade.

She congratulated the 800 successful candidates standing before her including women.

She said that attending the passing out parade as Chief Minister gave her courage.

“I am one of you,” she said, “I came wearing your uniform. This uniform represents national service, which is a privilege for few sons and daughters. Among those who performed excellently, 70 are women. I will also send cash rewards to those who performed exceptionally well.”

Maryam Nawaz further stated that parents trusted their daughters and dedicated them to the service of the country. The daughters of the Elite Force would stand shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts in performing their duties.

The Punjab CM said that parents send their children into the field to become martyrs.

She reflected on the passion that drives youth to risk their lives for martyrdom.

85 officers of the Elite Force had  already achieved martyrdom, and she paid tribute to all the martyrs of the forces, saying that the Holy Quran made it clear  that the martyrs are alive.

She further mentioned that the IG Punjab is bringing positive changes to the police department and assured him that there would be no shortage of resources.

The Punjab Government would provide the necessary budget for the IG Punjab.

She already  provided eight state-of-the-art thermal imaging cameras to the IG Punjab.

She expressed confidence that the day is not far when the stains on the police would be washed away and people would sleep peacefully in their homes.
