LAHORE – As the weather turned chilly in most parts of the region, the Punjab government has made changes in school uniform policy.

In the new update, the provincial administration allowed students to wear sweaters or jackets of any color in addition to uniforms as many parents could not get blazers and uppers for their children.

The education department notified all schools that there should not be any restrictions on students, allowing them to wear casual sweaters and jackets.

The temporary changes in uniform policy have been made for the months of January and February. Earlier, school students were required to adhere to a specific dress code.

Meanwhile, parents and social activists commended the decision, calling it a much-needed step as many could not afford new and expensive as economic woes mount.

Schools in Punjab, Sindh, KP, and other regions are enjoying winter vacations. The schools will be reopen from the start of next month (January 1, 2024).
