ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Raoof Hassan has been granted bail in an anti-state propaganda case.

Duty Magistrate in the capital city Abbas Shah granted bail to PTI Information Secretary in an anti-state propaganda case, but he will not be released yet.

Despite the bail, Raoof remains behind bars as an anti-terrorism court handed him over to the counter-terrorism department. Hasan and nine other suspects were granted bail with bonds set at Rs50,000 each.

PTI information secretary and others were arrested by Islamabad Police on July 22 and then transferred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Hasan was booked for being part of an alleged group involved in anti-state propaganda.

So far, at least a dozen suspects, including two women, are charged under sections 9 (glorification of an offense), 10 (cyber-terrorism), and 11 (hate speech) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.

The suspects include Waqas, PTI leader Hasan, Afaq Ahmed Alvi, Hameedullah, Rashid Mahmood, Zeeshan Farooq, Syed Osama, Mohammad Rizwan Afzal, Mohammad Rafiq, Syed Hamza, Farhat Khalid, and Iqra.

As per the details, these individuals used social sites to damage Pakistan’s integrity and disrupt law and order.
