In a scathing critique, Vice President of PPP Senator Sherry Rehman has lambasted the leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), asserting that they have not learned from past mistakes. The controversy stems from the confirmed letter to the IMF, a move decried by Rehman, who emphasized that the IMF has no bearing on elections. Rehman expressed her disappointment, stating that the admission of PTI’s founder writing a letter to the IMF is disheartening. She questioned the timing of the revelation, highlighting the founder’s past departure, which had left the country on the brink of default. The PPP leader criticized PTI’s apparent disregard for poverty and inflation concerns when initially securing loans. Invoking nationalistic sentiments, Sherry Rehman condemned inviting the IMF to intervene in internal affairs, asserting that such actions are not in the country’s best interest. She questioned the purpose of the letter, accusing PTI of still wanting to damage the country’s economy.—Staff Reporter
