ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Shibli Faraz reacted to the Supreme Court’s decision to restore NAB amendments, calling it “NRO 2”.
Shibli Faraz said the matter would be taken to the public.
Criticizing the government, he said, “These are the people of Form 47; they are not the true representatives of the people. They will make laws that protect thieves and violators of the Constitution. This is a fake Parliament. How can these people legislate in the interest of the public?”
Shibli Faraz further added, “This group has drained the blood of the poor. We consider this to be a fake Parliament. In the elections, the largest party in Pakistan, PTI, was sidelined. PTI’s election symbol was taken away, yet people still voted for PTI. Everyone saw how the election results were changed,”.
He continued, “Everyone witnessed how Form 47 was used. PTI women and senior leadership were harassed during the elections. The law that was passed in the Senate yesterday is not something genuine parliamentarians would pass. In Parliament, the representatives of political parties are meant to serve the people,”.
Shibli Faraz said, “NRO 2 has been reinstated. PTI will continue its political struggle, and on September 8th, we will hold the largest rally in history. Good judges serve their term with dignity and leave with honor, but the kind of legislation being passed now is not in the country’s best interest,”
He said that “These people will leave after looting the country. Such laws are making the lives of the people miserable. Today, thieves walk with their heads held high, while the honest keep their heads bowed. People are leaving the country,”.
