PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the federal government on Friday started backdoor contacts to start talks to defuse the political temperature.
After the communication between the federal government and PTI, the backdoor contacts started with PTI.
Sources said that the meeting between former federal minister Muhammad Ali Durrani and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also a part of these efforts.
Former federal minister and former senator Muhammad Ali Durrani met Ali Amin Gandapur at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, where they discussed the current political situation in the country and ways to advance the political reconciliation process.
The CM’s advisor on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, was also present during the meeting.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to make joint efforts for the political reconciliation process in the country.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also made a telephone contact with senior Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liaquat Baloch and central leader of the Grand Democratic Alliance, Safdar Abbasi.
During the phone conversation, they discussed the political situation in the country and agreed to give an opportunity to the reconciliation process in the current political scenario as well as to accelerate efforts in this regard.
The sources said that there is a possibility of further contacts between the Chief minister, PTI’s central leadership and other political parties.
