KARACHI – Lahore Qalandars on Monday bagged an imperious win after they decimated Quetta Gladiators in the fourth match of the Pakistan Super League 2021 (PSL).
Qalandars achieved the target of 179 runs on the loss of one wickets as top order lit up Karachi nights with their explosive hits.
Fakhar Zaman and Sohail Akhtar made a splendid start, putting the bowling line of Gladiators under pressure.
However, Sohail Akhtar was sent to pavilion on 21 runs and he was replaced by Mohammad Hafeez, who thrashed multiple glorious boundaries.
Zaman, who was also declared man of the match, made unbeaten 82 runs while Hafeez remained not out at 73.

Earlier, Qalandars won toss and opted to bowl first.
Gladiators managed to set a good target of 179 runs for Qalandars with special contribution by Chris Gayle (68) and captain Sarfraz Ahmad (40).
Qalandars’ Haris Rafu took three wickets of Tom Banton, Sarfraz Ahmad and Ben Cutting. Shaheen Afridi and Rashid Khan claimed one wicket each.
Qalandars started their PSL campaign with a 4-wicket win against Peshawar Zalmi while Quetta went down against Karachi Kings in the tournament’s opener.
Gladiators will be aiming to fight back against a strong Lahore team. Both the teams have faced each other 10 times with win-loss leveled at 5-each.
