Provincial Ombudsman Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput announced an initiative to make university students brand ambassadors for the Ombudsman’s institution, aiming to enhance public awareness and encourage the utilization of the Ombudsman’s services.
Addressing a session with a delegation of ten students from Sindh Madrasatul Islam University (SMIU), Dr. Rajput emphasized the importance of educating the public about the benefits of the Ombudsman’s office. The session, held at the provincial ombudsman’s office, featured students who have been appointed as brand ambassadors. During the Q&A segment, Dr. Rajput explained that the Ombudsman’s office is developing a policy to resolve complaints within a specific timeframe.
He also mentioned that brand ambassadors in districts without an Ombudsman office would facilitate the submission of complaints to the nearest regional offices. Dr. Rajput highlighted the role of university brand ambassadors in ensuring swift justice for the general public, particularly the poor. These ambassadors will provide crucial awareness about provincial departments and help alleviate the financial burden of legal fees for complainants.
The students asked Dr. Rajput about the operational functions of the Ombudsman’s office and discussed how students from interior Sindh could effectively serve as brand ambassadors to address public grievances in remote areas. Registrar MasoodIshrat, Advisor RehanaMemon, and AkmalNaseem also shared their insights on the function and objectives of the Ombudsman’s office during the session.
