Eighty-eight prisoners were shifted from Nawabshah District Jail to other jails of the province in the wake of chances of spread of virus. It was learnt that District Jail Nawabshah has a capacity of lodging 100 prisoners at a time but it is overcrowded with 280 prisoners, notice of which was taken by IG Jails.
Later 88 prisoners from Nawabshah District Jail were shifted to Central Jail Mirpurkhas on the orders of IG Jails. Superintendent Nawabshah District Jail Ashfaque Kalwar told that 88 prisoners were shifted to Central Jail Mirpurkhas to implement on the health advisory. He said that the screening of shifted prisoners was conducted prior to shifting while prisoners van was also cleaned with anti viral spray.
