President Zardari visits Chinese Embassy to mourn victims of Bisham attack

ISLAMABAD – President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday visited the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan to send condolences to victims of the Bisham terror attack.

Five Chinese nationals and a Pakistani man were killed in a targeted suicide bombing in north-west Pakistan on Tuesday.

A day after bombing, President Zardari visited Chinese Embassy and offered condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan over the killing of Chinese citizens. He denounced terror attack, saying that the Pakistani nation shared the grief of the Chinese people.

Zardari said people of Pakistan stood in solidarity with the Chinese people in this hour of grief.

Upon his arrival, President was received by Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Mr Jiang Zaidong.

During the meeting, President emphasized that foreign forces are targeting Pakistan and China’s growing partnership. He however assured the Chinese Ambassador that those responsible for the attack would be caught and punished.

Zardari also promised increased security for Chinese citizens working on projects in Pakistan.

Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude for the President’s visit and the widespread condemnation of the attack by Pakistanis. He praised the contributions of Chinese workers to Pakistan’s development and called for stronger counter-terrorism efforts and improved security for Chinese workers.

Furthermore, the supreme commander of forces also penned his comments in the condolence book placed at the embassy.
