Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Sunday announced good news for the people travelling on train that from September 21, Pakistan Railway will reduce fares of AC Business by 10% and AC Standard by 5%.
“The ML-I is a game-changer project and its tenders will be issued till September 20.”
Speaking at a press conference here Railway Headquarters, Sheikh Rashid slammed that the PML-N will be divided into “Noon” and “Sheen” leagues till December, adding that it is impossible for them to live together. “London has become a hotbed of political fugitives and everyone is well aware of this.”
He said that it is truth that local bodies elections will be held. However, he remained silent when it will be conducted.
The minister pointed out that train operation has adversely been disturbed due torrential rains in Hyderabad and Karachi.
He informed that the PR has decided establishment of a mini headquarters at Karachi, saying that there are officers in the railways who have never performed any operational responsibility.
All such officers will be posted to the mini headquarters at Karachi, he added. About his book, Sheikh Rashid told the mediamen that two editions of his book have sold like hot cakes and the third edition will come out very soon.
The railway minister termed the Gujjarpura gangrape tragedy as a disgraceful stain on the face of society and said that the statement of the CCPO was irresponsible. “The government will capture the culprits and hand them down an exemplary punishment.”
Sh Rashid said that artificial crisis of sugar and flour will end soon as imported shipments of both the commodities have arrived in Karachi and soon subsidy will be given to the people.
He accepted responsibility for the sugar and flour crisis, insisting that prices of both the commodities will come down in next few days.
