Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza on Friday said that the caretaker government has been continuing the privatization policy of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) since the day it took power. He was addressing a press conference along with PPP Lahore President Aslam Gill. PPP leaders Usman Saleem Malik, Ahsan Rizvi, Ayesha Ghori and Zeeshan Shami were present on the occasion.
He said conducting elections is the only responsibility of the caretaker government. Who gave the right to sell to government institutions?
Murtaza condemned the arrest of the members of the Government Employees Grand Alliance (Agega). A coalition of 34 organisations representing various government departments, including health, education and higher education, continued to protest against the Punjab government and the district administration over the arrest of more than 200 teachers who were already in jail.
The alliance’s demands include restoration of leave encashment, reversal of amendments to pension regulations and cancellation of privatisation plans for public schools.
