Office-bearers of the All Pakistan Postal Circle/Regional Offices Employees Union (CBA) (APPCO) have called upon the federal government to announce adhoc relief of 20% increase in basic pay of all the employees of the postal circle/regional offices and abolish differences in their pay-scales from that of the employees of other federal departments.
In a statement issued here, Central Chairman of the Islamabad Circle Shahid Ali Khan, President Islamabad Circle Sardar Ghulam Nabi, General Secretary Raja Mohammad Javed, Press Secretary Hassan Anwar and Finance Secretary Haji Mohammad Nawaz in a joint statement said the Establishment Division had already approved the long-standing demand of the postal staff but the finance division is reluctant to implement it. They have demanded of the Prime Minister and the Minister for Communications to take cognizance of the matter and introduce uniform pay scale for all the federal government employees.
Besides, they called for making all the four adhoc relief packages part of their basic pay and on its basis called for two-time increase in medical and conveyance allowance.
House rent should also be paid according to the 2020 pay-scale instead of 2008, they further demanded. The employees of the postal demanded had great expectations from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government and they are feeling stabbed in the back over the government’s failure to announce handsome package in the Budget 2020-2021. The government should review the budget and announce salary increase and other benefits in view of price hike and difficult economic conditions, they further said.
