MUMBAI – Indian actress and model Poonam Pandey has vehemently dismissed rumors surrounding her demise, labeling them as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Taking to social media, Pandey released a video statement on Wednesday afternoon, where she refuted the circulating reports.
“Unfortunately, I cannot speak for the thousands of women who are losing their lives to cervical cancer. They are not dying because they can’t do anything, but because they don’t know what to do after being diagnosed with the disease,” Pandey asserted in her video address.
However, the social media users came down hard upon Panday for faking her death.
"Shocking revelation! Poonam Pandey is alive, and her reported death was a bizarre publicity stunt in the name of awareness. These actions disguised as awareness campaigns need to stop. #poonampanday pic.twitter.com/btEiz1t7RI

The actress went on to emphasize, “I want to tell you that like other cancers, there is treatment for this cancer too. It is necessary for all of you to get tested and vaccinated for it, and we have to ensure that more lives are not wasted because of this cancer,”.
The statement comes a day after her death rumours made headlines across the world. Surprisingly, the death information was shared by the actress’s own Instagram account.
The people from different backgrounds including the showbiz stars expressed sorrow and grief over reports of her death due to cervical cancer.
