A case was registered against a station house officer (SHO) and 11 other policemen in compliance of an order issued by Sindh High Court’s Sukkur circuit on a complaint that they intruded a house, manhandled its occupants, including women, and took away a motorcycle and several other valuables from inside.
Complainant Yasmeen Sheikh had filed a petition in the court stating that Rohri SHO Sanaullah Khoharo and the official in charge of a police check-post Jaji Katpar along with 10 other policemen recently barged into her house and manhandled her and her family members, including her elderly mother Shehzadi Sheikh and sister-in-law Imamzadi Sheikh.After hearing her grievance, the court ordered Sukkur SSP Singhar Malik to get an FIR registered at the Rohri police station against the police officer and his team.Accordingly, the SHO and 11 members of his team were booked in the case.
House robbery, manhandling of family members allegedThe SSP also constituted a five-member committee to investigate the whole episode.
The committee comprises ASP City Saad Arshad, Salehpat SHO Shoukat Arain, Singhar SHO Munzoor Abro, and Patni SHO Allauddin Phulpoto, according to a spokesperson for the SSP office.Soon after the registration of the case, the Rohri SHO, Sanaullah Khoharo, obtained his pre-arrest bail from the Sukkur district and sections court to avoid his arrest. On the other hand aesidents of Teer Chowk locality in Sukkur’s city area felt breathing problem and at least one child fainted after ammonia gas leaked at an ice factory and spread in the neighbourhood on Thursday night.
People, many of them uncontrollably coughing, approached the A-Section police station with a complaint against owners of the factory. After visiting the factory and the locality, the police registered an FIR against the owners, Imdad Ali alias Pappu Memon and Kashif Memon.Some people and policemen wearing masks entered the factory and found that a valve of the gas tank was open and gas was gushing out of it.
