12 suspected terrorists belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were gunned down by the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday night in the district of Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police officials, the LEAs conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the district, killing the terrorists belonging to the outlawed TTP. The officials said that the terrorists had killed six cops in an attack in December 2022.
They added that the armed men were headed to Tank to carry out an attack. According to the police, arms, and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists’ possession. The process of identifying the terrorists is underway, police officials stated.
In another incident, police in Dera Ismail Khan repulsed an attack on the Hathala police check post.
Police repulse TTP attack on police station in Mianwali
According to the police, there was an exchange of fire between the police and the terrorists for 25 minutes.
The police said that the assailants escaped on the arrival of the Quick Response Force. No casualties were reported in the incident.
